GlamRock Campaign
Wanna be a rockstar? Grab a guitar and a pack of smokes. How about a model? Better practice your runway strut with a cig hanging out of your mouth. Sound like a load of crap? Rolling Stone and Glamour are convinced it makes $ense. They are the two magazines with biggest teen audiences (over 5.8 million teen readers combined) that still accept tobacco advertisements. So, that 13 year-old wannabe rockstar is reading Rolling Stone and seeing tobacco ads at the same time. And the 12 year-old future supermodel is seeing them in Glamour. It’s B.S.. The GlamRock Campaign, is fighting to get Rolling Stone and Glamour to stop accepting these ads. Y St. members statewide are hitting the streets to get the word out and collecting messages to send to these magazines. Millions of teen readers are seeing these ads every month, so we gotta fight back now!
